What the drive from Key Largo to Key West is actually like
South on US-1, the Overseas Highway, and there is no other road. The route runs the length of the island chain across a long series of bridges, much of it single lane in each direction, with nowhere to overtake and nowhere to divert. One accident closes the highway and the delay is measured in hours rather than minutes. Weather closes it outright. We plan generous windows here and we do not promise tight ones.
Access
Arriving in Key Largo to Key West
Properties are spread across the chain, so the mile marker matters more than the town name — Key Largo and Key West are hours apart on the same road. Access is mostly single-family and small low-rise, generally simple once you are there. Hurricane season is a genuine scheduling factor rather than a caution: with a single evacuation route, we will reschedule rather than run a movement into an uncertain forecast.

- How long is the drive from Key Largo to Key West?
- 1.5–4.5 hrs each way, via US-1, the Overseas Highway, before season traffic. We quote the honest figure rather than the optimistic one, because the schedule for the day depends on it.
- How far ahead should we book?
- A week is comfortable for most collections. May and October fill up across the whole of South Florida, and a building with a bookable loading dock will usually need more notice than a house.
- Does the property travel with anyone else's?
- No. Your load is not consolidated with another client's, and there are no other collections on the same run.
- Can we follow the vehicle?
- Yes. Clients regularly drive down behind us and watch the property go into the vault. Nobody has ever been told no.
- Do you charge by distance?
- Distance is part of it, along with the size of the load and how long the collection itself takes. You get a figure before the day, not after.

Most Brickell towers require a certificate of insurance filed with building management days in advance and will only release the service lift in a booked window — we handle that paperwork, but it is why a Brickell collection is booked a week out and a house is not.
