The Jobs We Turn Down
A transport company that claims it can move anything is telling you it has not thought about it. Here is where we stop, and where you should call somebody else.
Tell us what, from where, and roughly when. No obligation, and no inventory list needed to start the conversation.
Ten limits
Anything needing an armed escort
We are not a licensed security agency. No armed personnel, no armored vehicles. Above a certain declared value the right answer is a national armored carrier, and we will name the threshold on the call rather than stretch to reach it.
Out-of-state movements
Florida only. Interstate transport of high-value property belongs with a carrier set up for it, with the licensing and the coverage that implies.
Firearms
We do not transport firearms. Federal and state rules around transfer and possession are specific enough that this needs a specialist who does nothing else.
Controlled substances, including lawful ones
Pharmaceuticals, medical cannabis and anything scheduled. Not a judgement, just a regulatory area we are not licensed for.
Live animals, plants and perishables
A vault is the wrong environment and we are the wrong people.
Hazardous materials
Flammables, compressed gas, anything requiring placarding. Some antique and photographic materials fall in here unexpectedly — nitrate film in particular. Tell us if you are unsure.
Property you cannot show authority over
For an estate, that means the appointment or the letters. If entitlement is contested, it gets resolved before we arrive, not by us. We will not be the instrument of a family dispute.
A safe we would have to open
We can empty a safe you have the combination to. We are not safe engineers, we do not drill, and we do not move gun safes or floor safes.
A whole household
This is not a removals service. We move the small number of things that cannot be replaced; hire movers for the furniture, and they will do it better than we could.
Anything we are asked to keep off the record
The record is the product. A request to skip the inventory, omit an item, or leave the paperwork vague is a request we decline, and it ends the conversation.
Genuinely
Who to call instead
For armed transport or interstate work, a national armored carrier — Brink's, Loomis and GardaWorld all operate in Florida. For firearms, a licensed dealer who handles transfers. For a whole household, any reputable mover, with the irreplaceable items taken out of the load first. We are not paid for any of these referrals and we do not want to be.
Not sure which side of the line you are on?
Describe it on the phone. The answer takes about two minutes and costs nothing.
