Route · 2–2.5 hrs via I-75 — Alligator Alley
Collections from Naples & Marco Island
Alligator Alley is a hundred miles of two-lane divided highway through the Everglades with almost no services and long stretches without phone signal. We plan a Naples run to cross it in daylight with a full tank, because there is nowhere to stop with a loaded vehicle and we would not stop if there were.
Tell us what, from where, and roughly when. No obligation, and no inventory list needed to start the conversation.

How this route runs
The drive
- Time each way
- 2–2.5 hrs
- Road
- I-75 — Alligator Alley
- Destination
- 3562 N Ocean Blvd, Fort Lauderdale — Galt Ocean Mile
- Stops en route
- None. The vehicle is not left unattended at any point.
Before the day
- Tell us roughly what is moving. A list helps; it is not required to book.
- For a building, we need the management contact — most want a certificate of insurance filed in advance.
- For a gated community, arrange the gate authorization. A vehicle turned away wastes the morning.
- For an estate, have the documented authority to hand before we arrive.
- Allow time for the inventory. It is the part that protects you and the part people rush.
Conditions
What the drive from Naples & Marco Island is actually like
West across Alligator Alley, and this is the route that most deserves a warning. I-75 crosses the Everglades with almost no services, no fuel and long stretches with limited mobile coverage. There is no practical alternative road. A closure — and closures happen — means a very long detour or no crossing at all. The vehicle runs the Alley fully provisioned, and we plan this as a full-day movement rather than a drive.
Access
Arriving in Naples & Marco Island
Naples is affluent, low-rise and heavily seasonal. Expect gated communities with guardhouse authorization, alongside oceanfront buildings with conventional loading procedures. The seasonal swing is extreme — a community that is busy in February can be close to empty in August — so confirming that someone with documented authority will actually be present matters more here than almost anywhere.

Common questions
- How long is the drive from Naples & Marco Island?
- 2–2.5 hrs each way, via I-75 — Alligator Alley, before season traffic. We quote the honest figure rather than the optimistic one, because the schedule for the day depends on it.
- How far ahead should we book?
- A week is comfortable for most collections. May and October fill up across the whole of South Florida, and a building with a bookable loading dock will usually need more notice than a house.
- Does the property travel with anyone else's?
- No. Your load is not consolidated with another client's, and there are no other collections on the same run.
- Can we follow the vehicle?
- Yes. Clients regularly drive down behind us and watch the property go into the vault. Nobody has ever been told no.
- Do you charge by distance?
- Distance is part of it, along with the size of the load and how long the collection itself takes. You get a figure before the day, not after.

Sanibel and Captiva are reached by a causeway that has been rebuilt since Ian, and the islands remain acutely storm-aware — a large share of the work here is people who lost something in 2022 and decided the next one would not catch them. Collections on the islands are timed around the causeway rather than the calendar.
