- For a building, we need the management contact — most want a certificate of insurance filed in advance.
- For a gated community, arrange the gate authorization. A vehicle turned away wastes the morning.
- For an estate, have the documented authority to hand before we arrive.
- Allow time for the inventory. It is the part that protects you and the part people rush.

What the drive from Tampa & St. Petersburg is actually like
The longest movement we run, north on I-75 then into the Tampa Bay road network. The interstate portion is predictable; the metropolitan portion is not, and I-4 in particular is among the busiest and least reliable stretches in the state. We plan arrival outside peak wherever the schedule permits and treat this as a full-day movement without exception.
Access
Arriving in Tampa & St. Petersburg
A full metropolitan mix — downtown towers with managed docks, waterfront single-family in the older neighborhoods, and gated communities in the suburbs. Bridge crossings between Tampa and the St Petersburg side add time and are exposed in high wind. Given the distance, we settle loading arrangements and authorizations in detail before the vehicle leaves rather than resolving anything on the day.

Common questions
- How long is the drive from Tampa & St. Petersburg?
- 4–4.5 hrs each way, via I-75 to I-4 or the Skyway, before season traffic. We quote the honest figure rather than the optimistic one, because the schedule for the day depends on it.
- How far ahead should we book?
- A week is comfortable for most collections. May and October fill up across the whole of South Florida, and a building with a bookable loading dock will usually need more notice than a house.
- Does the property travel with anyone else's?
- No. Your load is not consolidated with another client's, and there are no other collections on the same run.
- Can we follow the vehicle?
- Yes. Clients regularly drive down behind us and watch the property go into the vault. Nobody has ever been told no.
- Do you charge by distance?
- Distance is part of it, along with the size of the load and how long the collection itself takes. You get a figure before the day, not after.

Sanibel and Captiva are reached by a causeway that has been rebuilt since Ian, and the islands remain acutely storm-aware — a large share of the work here is people who lost something in 2022 and decided the next one would not catch them.
